 • Series: Everybody's Ticked: How To Get Along

This week we'll be looking at what are essential postures for getting along! Our anchor passage is Matthew 5:1-7. MESSAGE NOTES: Q: What’s a time you felt especially ticked? Why? What happened? Matthew 5:1-7 Backstory: blessed Q: How might this explanation help enrich your understanding of a blessed life? Healthier Postures Healthy recognition; I really need help. (vs. 3) Healthy sorrow; I express my grief and loss. (vs. 4) Healthy humility; I carry right-sized view of self and others. (vs. 5) Healthy appetite; I crave what’s wrong to be made right. (vs. 6) Healthy mercy; I bless others with compassionate forgiveness. (vs. 7) Q: Which of these postures do you find most challenging, “upside down” compared to our normal understanding of living “blessed” and “happy?” Q: Reflect and explain how one or two of these postures could be lived out in your coming week? Q: Are there situations and/or people with whom you’re feeling ticked or they’re ticked toward you? How might one or two of these postures make a difference? Get Ready for Next Week Read Matthew 5:1-12 each day. Ponder and answer the above Qs. Also read Romans 12:9-21. Select one or two verses to memorize, a verse or two on which you can meditate in the coming weeks.
