Pope Francis

 • Series: What Would Jesus Say To...?

Message Notes: Bible passages to ponder: Luke 6:12-16 Luke 9:20 and Matthew 16:18-19 Luke 11:1-13 1 Peter 2:4-5 & 9-10 Luke 23:42-43 Consider what Jesus might say to Pope Francis (and to us!): • I love your focus on your call and conversion. Emphasize a deeply personal call and merciful conversion for others! • Your humility, accessibility, and heart for building bridges with others really reflects my heart and example. • You are down-to-earth, truly human, even willing to apologize. Stay grounded like this. • You don’t need to pray to the saints. Pray to my Father instead. • Peter was more AND less than you think he was. • Reconsider how you're overthinking about my mom. • Don’t let your bent toward active mercy and good justice overshadow the finished work of Christ. Don’t miss the simplicity of grace and faith. Which of these potential correctives and affirmations prove insightful for you? Why? Which of these are most challenging to your own personal life-and-faith framework? Why? How will you more diligently aim to build your life on Jesus, in light of this week’s truth? Get Ready for Next Week: What would Jesus say to an NFL Star? Read each day and meditate on Luke 6:12-49.
