Message Notes: Think of a time you encountered something tangibly sticky, like honey or snow? What happened? When have you or someone you love struggled to really stick with a group, in a difficult situation, project, or endeavor? What happened? Read Ephesians 4:1-2 several times. What are your initial observations? What are your knee-jerk questions? Do some quick research about Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. Find helpful backdrop right HERE. What did you learn about Ephesians and Paul’s aim in writing it? Read Ephesians 3:14-21. How does Paul’s prayer and praise in these verses impact your understanding of what he says in 4:1-2? Read Ephesians 4:1-2 again. What’s Paul mean when he refers to himself as a prisoner for the Lord? What can we learn from his example? How might his example encourage you in your current life season? Paul urges the Ephesians and us to “walk worthy of the calling with which you have been called.” What is Paul getting after and how do we do that? Ponder each of these starter essentials for stick-to-itive togetherness: Humility Gentleness Patience Bearing with one another in love Which of these seems easiest for you in your relationships? Which of these is most difficult for you? Why? How can you start cultivating one or more of these in your relationships? What are one or two steps you will take this week to walk in Jesus’ ways? Get Ready for Next Week: Read all six chapters of Ephesians, possibly one chapter each day. Give special focus to Ephesians 4:1-16.
