Part IV

 • Series: Untangling Anxiety

Join us this series as we encounter Jesus inviting us to untangle our frustrating worry, fear, and frail coping methods. We’ll learn to think, feel, and act more like Jesus through life’s complex twists and turns. This morning's anchor scripture is Matthew 6:28-30. Q: What one or two issues feel really heavy on your heart and mind? Proverbs 12:25 says “Anxiety weighs down the human heart . . .” Matthew 6:27 says: “And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” Prayerful Examination—7 Steps Deliberately shift gears. Recall you are in the Father, Son, and Spirit’s presence. Reflect gratitude. Review God’s gifts and your own gifts expressed throughout the day. Replay your day like a set of mini-movies. Confess sinful foibles and failures. Commune with fresh focus in Christ’s presence. Q: How might steps in this prayer exercise help you reflect more and reboot better? Q: What will it take for you to practice such steps during the coming week? Get Ready for Next Week: Read Matthew 6:25-34 each day. Also read, ponder, meditate, and commit to memory one or more of the following: Philippians 4:4-7 and 2 Corinthians 13:5-6.
