Message Notes: What’s one of your favorite stories? Share the title and a very quick, two-to-three sentence synopsis. Why do you enjoy this story so much? When it comes to sharing their own story of faith in Christ, why do people sometimes struggle? Read John 3:1-21. What are your brightest observations from Nicodemus’ story? Elements to observe and note can include repeated words and phrases, the place the scene happens, the people/characters, their conversation, the literary context (what’s before and what’s after), as well as personal prayer patterns and attitude-change patterns we might apply today. Ponder these three story-crafting concepts: First, share your backstory. Second, share how Jesus’ story intersects your story. Third, share your “I’m being changed now, because of Jesus” story. Practice out loud. Try crafting your story using these three concepts. Now practice it. Try sharing it with someone.
